On May 2-6 the i-Procure.com team will join our european colleagues in Hannover, Germany to visit the CeMAT 2011 fair. The world’s leading trade fair for intralogistics is taking place this year under the tagline “Sustainability in Intralogistics”. More than 1000 exhibitors will be presenting their latest innovations and showcasing the complete spectrum of intralogistics technologies on a display area of some 80000 m2!
- Intralogistics providers are companies that supply technical systems and services to help other companies manage their in-house materials handling requirements. Intralogistics clients include industrial enterprises, wholesalers, retailers and government institutions.
- Intralogistics refers to managing material flows along the entire supply chain (supply chain management).
Intralogistics describes the internal flow of materials between different logistics nodes in a company – from materials handling in the production process to distribution centers right on up to airports and seaports – as well as to the corresponding flow of information. - Intralogistics is a cutting-edge term that describes a fast-growing sector consisting of lifting equipment and crane manufacturers, forklift truck and warehouse technology producers, software developers and even complete system providers. The intralogistics sector in Germany alone numbers several thousand companies.

Port Forum: Port handling technology
Port handling technology will be featured at CeMAT in 2011, with a host of special events planned to focus on innovations and trends. Launched back in 2008, the Port Forum is now a full-day event staged by Deutsche Messe in collaboration with the Federal Association of German Inland Ports, the Central Association of German Sea Ports and the journal SCHIFFAHRT UND TECHNIK as the event’s media partner. The Port Forum will take place on May 4 at the Robotation Academy on the exhibition grounds.
In a series of lectures and discussions, experts will examine how “green” port logistics at sea and inland ports can contribute to the development of sustainable logistics chains worldwide, and how this will affect the activities of shippers, forwarding companies and logistics providers. The event will take a more in-depth look at the topics of hinterland transport systems for sea ports, the transportation of bulk goods, intermodal transport systems, project business, terminal software and innovative goods handling technology. Manufacturers, developers and users will get opportunies to share know-how and compare views.
